I’ll confess—every time Google releases a new Pixel phone, I’m as excited as a child waiting for the new superhero movie. This year, the Google Pixel 10 and its larger counterpart, the Google Pixel 10 Pro, have finally been released, and boy, are they making waves. If you’re like me and enjoy digging deep into whether a new phone that looks all sparkly is really worth all the buzz, you’re in the right place.
In this review, I’m going to take you through all that I’ve done and learned so far about it series—the features, the hardware, artificial intelligence’s role, how it compares with the latest rivals in the same category, and most importantly, whether to buy it or wait for the next new one. Let’s dive in.
The first time I picked up the Pixel 10, I thought to myself: “This is Google, but smarter.” The familiar visor-like camera bar is still present but thinner and more refined. Both the Google Pixel 10 and Google Pixel 10 Pro have a slightly curved aluminum frame, which makes the phone feel smooth, premium, but not slippery.

The weight is perfectly balanced—not too much like some cumbersome flagships, yet not too light either. Google has obviously got the ergonomics right. The screen, a 6.3-inch OLED on the Pixel 10 and a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED on the Pixel 10 Pro, is absolutely gorgeous. I marveled at how the refresh rate dynamically adjusts up to 120Hz, so scrolling is silky smooth and animations leap off the screen as never before.
One small thing I really appreciated about myself: the matte finish on the rear. At last, no more smudge-wiping every five minutes like I used to do with previous Pixel generations.
Let’s discuss hardware because that’s where the IT series truly flexes its muscle. Both devices use the Google Tensor G5 chip, which is a step up from the G4 of the Pixel 9. I know benchmarks don’t always paint the whole picture, but employing this chip in real life is an unprecedented experience. Apps open in a snap, multitasking is effortless, and gaming looks sleekly smooth.
Short of that, the hardware gives these phones a premium and future-ready feel.
If you’ve been along for the ride with Google through the years, you know they’ve been fixated on artificial intelligence, and it line is essentially their AI playground. Here are some highlights I found interesting:

I can say this much with certainty: the way AI is integrated in the Pixel 10 makes it excel in ways that aren’t gimmicks but actually useful in everyday.
Let’s keep it real—the primary reason most folks (including myself) purchase a Pixel phone is the camera. And in this regard, this is absolutely jaw-dropping.

The outcome? Breathtaking. Low-light performance is a notch higher, and AI-powered boosts get portraits to look like they were taken in the studio. I’ve captured some pictures in almost darkness, and they resembled having pro-grade lighting. Even video shooting is smoother now with the addition of 8K and better stabilization.
If photography is your passion, the Pixel 10 Pro is hands-down one of the best smartphones out today.
Now, let’s compare because comparisons without reviews are like coffee without caffeine—pointless.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 is perhaps the closest competitor in price and performance. Although the S24 stuns with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, I personally felt that Google’s AI capabilities give it a more futuristic feel.

Samsung does excel in screen brightness and marginally quicker charging, but the Pixel 10 Pro’s camera and AI make it a better-rounded performer. And Google’s out-of-the-box Android experience is purer than Samsung’s marginally overweight One UI.
So, if you need pure power, the Galaxy S24 is wonderful. But if you need performance coupled with intelligent artificial intelligence and photography, this mobile beats it.
Here’s the million-dollar (okay, thousand-dollar) question: Should you really get the Pixel 10 or the Pixel 10 Pro?

But if you’re already on a Pixel 9 Pro, the leap won’t be gigantic unless you truly need the newest AI magic. For the rest of us, particularly those getting a replacement for two- or three-year-old phones, this is a good and intelligent spend.
