What I have done for the last 2 years is I use Google Keep to note anything that comes into my mind, any task, any idea, I just note it down and later organize it at the end of the day, any task there directly goes to my Google Calendar. Simple changes, such as installing handrails, removing tripping hazards, and making sure that the home is well-lit, can make a big difference. I can easily be afraid of the dark, If I have to sleep alone, I will keep one light on, there, no one is perfect bud, everyone is terrified of something. I want to say that this step is important, not just for you but for your family as well. Taking care of one’s physical and emotional well-being can help cope with cognitive decline. Eating a healthy diet, staying active, and getting enough sleep can help maintain cognitive function. Additionally, it is important to take time for oneself and engage in activities that bring pleasure and relaxation. For me, it is gaming, watching anime, and sitcoms like Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, over and over again, and I will keep doing that for the rest of my life.
Losing mind can be a challenging experience, and it is important to seek support from loved ones, friends, and professionals, I know it can be difficult to share with them, you are thinking, how can you make them understand, but you can, they love you, they will understand. Also, there are support groups, counseling, and therapy can provide a safe space to talk about feelings and concerns, and to learn coping strategies.
It’s important to remember that cognitive decline is a gradual process and it takes time to adjust. It’s okay to make mistakes and to feel frustrated.
