Highest Grossing Movie: Top Gun: Maverick Overtakes Doctor Strange 2

The movie Top Gun: Maverick has finally overtaken Doctor Strange 2 to become the highest grossing movie globally, according to Box Office, after 28 days of global release, with $1.01 billion in revenue at the time of writing. This marks the first time that any movie from the franchise has broken this global milestone.

The Top Gun sequel( Released 30 Years ago), which was directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Val Kilmer, Jennifer Connelly has grossed $1.006 billion worldwide at the box office. It overtook Doctor Strange 2 a Marvel Entertainment film. Maverick is currently playing in theaters everywhere.

Tom Cruise’s latest movie, Top Gun: Maverick, has become his first to cross $1 billion in worldwide box office gross. The success of Tom Cruise’s newest movie Top Gun: Maverick continues as it has now surpassed $1 billion globally. A major accomplishment, as no other Tom Cruise movie has done so before( Including Mission Impossible Series). To put things into perspective, it took Top Gun 30 years to reach $1 billion globally at a time when ticket prices were cheaper and competing movies on offer had less quality. This past weekend alone, Top Gun crossed $150 million in North America alone and is expected to add another $200 million before its run concludes next month.
