How to learn freelancing is one of the most searched queries on the internet nowadays. But the more important question is what is freelancing in the first place? A normal person would say that “getting up according to your free will, making breakfast, and doing some online working with a nice and energetic music of dua lipa in the background till night.” Well, that is not all true.
Take it more like a startup, entrepreneurship, or a child of yours. You have to work as hard as you can to build your freelance empire stable. Never meant to disappoint you. But this is much harder than a job if you are doing it already, and we will discuss how.
Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.
Helen Keller, American author
Let’s start from the beginning, from where to learn to freelancing? There are hundreds of ways to learn to freelance. Best and a free source is YouTube. You just have to enter your desired skill and mention “complete tutorial for beginner” after that. And you will see different playlists appearing in front of you.
Some People do not rely on YouTube (as YouTube does not offer you a certificate at the end of your course, Alas) and want a complete course from A to Z about a specified skill, for that you can use different sites like, “Udemy, Udacity, Coursera, Google Digital Garage, and even Fiverr Learn. You just have to create a new account and there you go with your first class.
If you belong to Pakistan, then I highly recommend you to join Digiskills to get the skills along with the certificate to work professionally. There are different domains of freelancing that you can understand before getting into the field of freelancing. I myself have completed many courses using Digiskills and I am proud of myself for that. A Suitable certificate in front of you keeps you motivated. Moreover, if you go crazy and look for a job after completing this course, a certificate would help you.
You can learn freelancing by a senior freelancer, how? Just look for a senior freelancer, on Fiverr, Facebook, Upwork, wherever you find it okay. Next, find his/her mail and send a detailed mail a.k.a proposal to work for him/her for free as an internee, I know that somehow sounds stupid, but remember that, you just have the motivation, not the skill. To earn a skill, serving for free is much better than paying a fee.
Last but not the least, if you have any skill, experiment it, freelancing is not just about sitting in front of computer and working for someone’s project. You can be a Freelance coach, freelance driver, freelance gardener, freelance tailor, and freelance cooker, freelance partner if you are lucky enough. Freelancing is more like a mindset.
Before learning or adapting freelancing as your career please prepare yourself for that. Again, this is not an easy job if you are looking for one. Consult with a freelancer and then consult it withinner you, and if you have decided then congratulations, no one can stop you.
So far, this is it.
Take care, and stay safe.
See you again.
